Monday, February 21st, for the fifth webinar of the Biobridge winter season, we were fortunate to have Professor Armin Keshmiri discussing knee osteoarthritis post PRP-HA treatments.

In addition to being a senior clinician with extensive experience in orthopaedic surgery, Prof Armin Keshmiri (Munich) has published in over 50 scientific publications in internationally renowned journals as well as various book chapters and articles for trade journals.

He presented a case which he encounters quite frequently in his own clinical practice: an elderly patient with knee osteoarthritis who wishes to wait or avoid resorting to surgery for a prosthesis. The case was presented with clinical observations, imaging, and the patient’s wishes. The treatment performed was a conservative treatment of 3 injections of PRP+HA at 30 days interval.

The webinar participants were able to participate live in this debate via a fun interactive voting questionnaire about what could be done in terms of post treatment rehabilitation. The professor then gave his own recommendations on the do’s and don’ts of post-treatment rehabilitation and the messages to be passed on to patients in terms of physical activity and adherence to the rehabilitation program. The session ended with a very busy Q&A session with the webinar participants.

The session is now accessible in replay on the Biobridge site. We hope to meet you Monday for the next event of the program, on Woman’s Health Sexual health after menopause, on Feb 28th.
